Pelican Lakes Golf Club

Conveniently located in the center of the Water Valley community is Pelican Lakes Golf Club. The 18-hole semi-private championship Pelican Lakes Golf Course opened on July 12, 1999 and in 2005 earned a 4-star rating by Golf Digest as well as a top five semi-private Colorado course rating by Colorado Golf Magazine. World-renowned golf course architect Ted Robinson, Sr. designed Pelican Lakes with the Poudre River as the centerpiece. With more than 300 surface acres of water surrounding the links and dozens of mature trees along the fairways, golfers will be challenged by this spectacular stadium-style championship course. Elevated tees and greens provide stunning views of the beautiful landscape and the lakes that divide the fairways from the surrounding residents. A driving range and putting green round out the course’s golf amenities. Pelican Lakes’ sister course, Pelican Falls, opened on July 12, 2006. The Pelican Falls par 34 is a thrill ride and is the most talked about nine-hole golf course in Northern Colorado. In 2015, alwaystimefor9.com awarded Pelican Falls as the “9-Hole Course of the Year.”Established in 1999.Originally designed as an 18-hole course, Pelican Lakes welcomed its little sister in 2006 when the 9-hole Pelican Falls opened. Both courses sit in the historic Cache la Poudre River basin where early Windsor pioneers first settled. Among the first settlers in the area was Benjamin Harrison Eaton, the fourth governor of Colorado (1885-87) and who the Town of Eaton is named after. His log cabin was on the river bottom about a mile south of Windsor, near the site of the first tee box on Pelican Falls.
