PGA of BC 2020 Interior Region Instructor of the Year
Kyla has a passion for helping golfers enjoy the game. Whether it is lowering a handicap, getting rid of a slice, prepping for a tournament, or getting a new golfer ready to hit the course for the first time, Kyla enjoys the journey with the client.
Kyla believes in the body-swing connection. How the golfer is able to move their body will effect how they swing the golf club. There are ways to work around limitations in the golf swing, as well as strategies to work on the limitations to create a more functional athlete and golf swing.
When given a chance to work with a client in a long term setting (multi-day camp, or season long program) Kyla believes in a holistic approach. Let’s take a look at the low hanging fruit, where can we make the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time, with the least amount of effort? And then let’s build a game plan for where we need to dedicate the most time and energy for long term gains.
Kyla grew up in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. She played every sport in the book growing up and got addicted to golf in high school. She was recruited to play at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada, for 4 years where the team won multiple Canadian CIS championships. Kyla turned pro in 2013 and played for 5 years on the Canadian, Australian and Symetra Tours. Highlights from Kyla’s professional playing career include her win on the Australian tour in 2018, getting paired with Laura Davies in 2016, being a contestant on the Golf Channel reality series, Altered Course in 2015, chasing a little white ball around the world and making life long friends along the way!
