Derek has been teaching golf in Northern Colorado market since 1990. He was elected to the PGA membership in 1992 and recognized as a Certified PGA Professional in 2008 in four areas of expertise. These certificates include; Instruction, Golf Operations, General Management, and Executive Management. Derek has had the opportunity to attend numerous PGA instruction seminars and has learned and applied valuable swing concepts from some of golf’s most recognized names in golf including Hank Haney, Dick Harmon, Charlie Epps, Laird Small, Mike McGetrick, Dr. Bob Rotella, Manuel de la Torre and many others. In 2011, Derek embraced a new paradigm in golf instruction and is convinced that a golfer must not only understand swing fundamentals but bio-mechanics as well.
His philosophy was adopted from the Titleist Performance Institute and simply states: “We don’t believe there is one way to swing a club. We believe there are an infinite number of ways to swing a club. However, we do believe there is one efficient way for all golfers to swing a club & it is based on what they can physically do.”
