BOB MCARTHUR
Bob is a Golf Channel Academy co-lead coach at the Golf Academy at Heritage Pointe and has been the Head Teaching Professional for the Academy since 1998. The PGA of Canada’s 1999 National Teacher of the Year, Bob is a two-time PGA of Alberta Teacher of the Year (1998 and 1999) as well as Player of the Year (1989). He has been teaching professionally since 1994.
McArthur specializes in offering custom corporate programs as well as private lessons and operates the indoor instruction facility year-round using state-of-the-art video technology. A fine player himself with nine professional victories, Bob has worked with numerous elite players and professionals over the years, including 7-time Canadian Long Drive champion Lisa Vlooswyk, 2007-2008 PGA of Alberta Player of the Year Darryl James and former National Team members Kris Wasylowich and Meaghan Leblanc. Other notable students include former National Hockey League players Gary Roberts and Joe Nieuwendyk.
Bob is a 30-year PGA of Canada Class A Member and has been heavily involved in charitable foundation work. He is past Director for the Gary Roberts Children Foundation Charity (1995-2005), has raised more than $500,000 for special equipment purchases for the Alberta Children’s Hospital. He is also a supporter of both the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Canadian Diabetes Foundation as well as the Kyle Stuart Memorial Foundation for underprivileged youths in sport in the Calgary area.
