Club De Golf Le Cardinal

Not valid with any other offer!

The Le Cardinal Golf Club was founded in 1955 by Mr. Maurice Cardinal, architect and designer of the course, and Mr. Léopold Benoit.

When it opened in May 1955, there were only nine holes, and it was in 1958 that the second nine became reality.

In 1968, Mr. Cardinal became the sole owner and the course, formerly called Club de Golf Ste-Dorothée, took the name of “Club de Golf Le Cardinal” as proposed at the time by Ms. Mary De Breyne, active member of the club.

In 1995, Mr. Maurice Cardinal died and his children became the new owners of the Club.

In 2001, Mr. Guy Cardinal became the sole owner, President and CEO.

In 2013, the latter delegated responsibility for the Club to his two sons, Marc-André and Philippe, as well as to his daughter, Sarah.

In spring 2014, the chalet was completely rebuilt to the delight of all golfers.

During all these years, our Club Professionals were:

Réal “Lefty” Jarry from 1955 to 1969
Roger Bouchard in 1970
Marcel Pigeon from 1971 to 1981
Guy Cardinal from 1981 to date

It should also be noted that Adrien Bigras was a competitive professional for two years for the Club.

The first “Hole in One” was recorded at hole # 3 by Henri Richard, emeritus golfer and Montreal Canadiens legend. Besides, the two brothers, Maurice and Henri, were two great followers of the Le Cardinal Golf Club.
