Imagine choosing which course to play on a Saturday morning. At Carmel, members are offered two championship 18-hole courses on 384 acres of landscaped greenery, each with its own distinct personality.
The North Course reopened in September, 2016 after a striking renovation led by award-winning golf course architect John Fought. Evoking the classic era of golf course design the “new” North Course features a traditional design adapted for today’s game. Playing anywhere from 4,118 to 6,807 yards and featuring seven tee boxes, the course invites and challenges golfers of all caliber and interest level. Bermuda from tee to the Champion Bermuda greens, the North Course features the best of the area’s rolling Piedmont terrain and mature tree cover.
A perfect complement to the traditional feel of the North Course is the bold, modern South Course which plays 7,500 yards. Redesigned in 2009-2011 by distinguished golf course architect Rees Jones, the South Course offers Bentgrass greens, Zoysia grass landscaping on fairways and tees, with Celebration Bermuda grass woven into the roughs. New irrigation systems run throughout the course. Specific sculpting, including elevation shifts, comprises every hole. The South Course offers golfers a new experience every round, embodying beauty, natural surroundings and challenging play.
In addition to two exceptional courses, Carmel offers a comprehensive golf experience which allows every golfer to receive personalized attention from the moment they leave their car. Carmel golfers are able to enjoy the newly redesigned entry to the Pro Shop, the cart and bag drop area and lush and scenic event lawn at the exterior of the Clubhouse. Your Carmel golf experience is designed to be tailored specifically to your needs. Then, after a day of golf, take a seat on Carmel’s inviting outdoors Honors Terrace to enjoy the view of both #18 holes while sipping your favorite beverage.
