We have made a major decision to rebrand the facility with a new name Moccasin Wallow Golf Club.
We’ve already started to think about these 18 holes as “The MOC!” Why the name change? We want to become more a part of and promote the growth of Moccasin Wallow future developments. We believe that we will bring greater attention to the existing communities and HOAs that exist and those that will be coming in the next 5-10 years.
We have improved and reconstructed some the existing golf course and redesigned the clubhouse interiors, bringing added values and much needed community facilities for future members as well as daily fee players.
Our priority had been to restore the existing golf course to what it once was…and perhaps far better. The course has been shut down all summer for reconstruction of irrigation, greens, tees and fairways. New Tif-eagle greens were sprigged in August and have been returned to original size.
We have invested a significant amount of capital to overhaul the pump station and irrigation which were in need of a major repair. We installed new clocks and a system that will be controlled thru computers and remote control so the days of manual watering will be over.
We had intended to spray weed killer, fertilizer, and insecticides to restore the fairways, teeing ground, and approach areas to a much improved playing surface. Unfortunately as time went buy we were not satisfied with the process and in late August we made the decision to replant new fairways and tees with the new Celebration grass to complement to new tif eagle greens. we couldn’t be happier with the result as our fairways are now some of the best in all of the tampa Bay Area.
We have repaired the hog damage to the course as all of the chemicals begin to work. we will continue to spray for insects and keep rodents as well as other damaging animals away from our course.
