Stony Creek is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and many locals consider it to be one of its gems. There aren’t any residences near the golf course, giving it a secluded feel and providing unhindered views from the elevated tees. The course opened in 1976 but underwent a major renovation that included re-sculpting the bunkers and reconditioning the entire golf course. The layout features several doglegs and a surprising amount of elevation changes. The fairways are tightly lined with trees and bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides and landing zones. There are also lakes and ponds that come into play on six holes on the front nine and three on the back. Stony Creek’s par-3 17th is the most memorable water hole and the 14th is also notable for its tiny “postage stamp” green.
