Shamrock Golf Course, voted Kankakee County’s favorite golf course*, is located on the Kankakee River in Saint Anne, IL. It features 3,487 yards of golf. This 18 hole course consists of 12 par threes, 6 par fours, 6 sand traps, and 2 water hazards. The narrow tree-lined fairways and elevation changes makes this the perfect practice course for the most experienced golfers, and gives a challenge to those just want a quick game or a fun day on the course.
Shamrock Golf Course was designed by professional Golf Course architects and was constructed by a contractor who specializes in building modern courses. This near regulation course was cut out of an old dense forest in 1963. The best Oak, Hickory, and Maple trees were left to line the fairways thus giving natural hazards that would ordinarily take 50 years to develop.
Shamrock has a rolling terrain and is located adjacent to the beautiful Kankakee River. Some of the water from this river has been diverted to beautify the course and at the same time aids in challenging the Golfer’s skills.
