The Champion Trace course at Keene Trace Golf Club was designed by world renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills and built in 1987 by Tom Heilbron, a former president and current member. Although Arthur Hills has left his mark on many areas throughout the country, he put a special touch on Champion Trace in the late 1980s. Since its inception, Champion Trace has been rated as one of the best courses in the state of Kentucky. Champion Trace has obtained state, regional and national prominence as a world-class golf course by hosting events such as:
