Benjamin’s golf journey started in a fairly non-traditional route. He wasn’t a 4 year old prodigy, and didn’t even pick up his first club until age 14. His buddies joined the High School Golf Team, and he decided to give it a try. He immediately fell in love with the game. During college he worked at Dick’s Sporting Goods in their Golf department, where he earned certifications in Club Fittings and Alterations. He went on to begin his professional career as an Assistant Professional at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Sellersburg, IN. After 2 seasons, he moved on to Timbergate Golf Course in Edinburgh, IN for one season. Ben then was recognized for his quick growth and dedication to the game by being hired on at the Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resorts as an Assistant Golf Professional and Instructor. The Dye is in the top 100 Public Courses in the Country and the #1 Rated Course in 2017 by the National Golf Course Owner’s Association. He was the Orange County First Tee Program Coach and Coordinator for over 75 students. After two years, and a great deal of experience, he joined Oldham County Country Club as the Assistant Golf Professional. He runs the Ladies and Junior Golf Program with record participation. In his role at OCCC he realized his passion for teaching. He has worked with players of all ages and skill levels to help them enjoy Golf as much as he does. He has added a FlightScope, Launch Monitor, to his teaching options and is excited to work with it himself as he prepares for and competes in tournaments. His goals are to increase his number of tournament qualifications, complete his PGA Management Program to get his ‘card’, and to one day open his own teaching academy. Ben is a Kentuckiana native with most of his family close by. He is extremely grateful for their continued support and can’t wait to see what’s next!
