Sitting at the highest point of Cuyahoga County is Seneca Golf Course in Broadview Heights, a 27-hole beautiful, park-style golf course that sits on 350 acres of land. Since its opening on August 1, 1940, this championship length course has been home to many great tournaments. It is known for some lengthy par fours and fives.

A few of the more notable holes at Seneca Golf Course are the challenging Furnace Run #8. This 603 yard par 5 plays into the prevailing wind with a pristine pond to collect any errant approach shots that miss the green to the right. Another memorable hole with that showcases the beautiful parkland style golf course would be Furnace Run #3, a medium length par 5 that becomes much more challenging with 3 fairway bunkers in the landing zone of many tee shots, be sure to clear the subtle creek that will certainly affect your second shot. Once you arrive at one of the larger green complexes on the golf course you will note two deep bunkers just short left of the green that seem to collect many approach shots. The 6th hole on the Chippewa Golf Course provide a golfer with numerous options off the tee as the fairway winds around a pond that ends just short of the green. In the words of the great Arnold Palmer “It’s a good testing course.” In 2011, Cleveland Metroparks acquired the course from the city of Cleveland and currently renovating the wooded scenic golf course into the gem that it used to be. With 5 sets of tee boxes, Seneca is no longer just a course once for legends, but a course for every golfer.

This course is fantastic. One of my favorite Par 4's I have ever played - a short par 4 where your second shot is over a river to a elevated green. This course has a lot to offer and I hope to play again soon.
