John has been a Golf Professional and Golf Coach for thirty plus years. He Coaches exclusively at Smugglers Glen Golf Course – Home of the 2012 Canadian Tour Great Lakes Classic. John first earned his professional status in 1977 playing on the PGA Tour Canada and across North America. He quickly earned a reputation as a long driver and quality player earning four top-ten finishes his rookie year. John won his first PGA Tour Canada event in 1978, the Simon Fraser Open, and three regional events before qualifying with exempt status for the 1979 European Tour. Here he had two Top Ten finishes and finished in the Top Twenty on the Canadian Tour Order of Merit. John was forced to quit playing full time early in 1980 due to a health issue but maintained his professional playing status in Canada. Over the next ten years, he set several Canadian Tour records including the Most Birdies in a Row and Best Finish (- 7 over the last seven holes) in the 72 Hole CPGA Championship. John has had the privilege to coach beside and play competitively with golf legends Moe Norman, Sam Snead, Jim Flick, Lee Trevino, Nick Faldo, Bernard Langer, and George Knudsen. Not only learning the secrets of a great swing motion but also how to adapt and communicate them to all types of golfers. One of the more unique Golfer Skills development programs offered is the exclusive The Golf Shots Coaching Program. It was launched while he was the Golf Director for the Olympic High-Performance Center in Toronto in the 1990s. This unique, multi coach process combines Titleist TPI Evaluation, Body and Joint Management, Golf Skills Coaching and individualized Resistance Training.
