One idea first
The golf club was founded in 1989. At that time the course was built based on an idea by Jack Nicklaus in the model of a Cayman Island course with 18 short holes. The concrete implementation of the planning was carried out by the well-known South African golf course architect Marc Muller. With hilly hills he created a great profile of the course that is harmoniously embedded in the landscape. The golf course has long been a 9-hole course with holes of normal length between 125 m and 478 m.
In 2010, hole 5 was extended to a par-5 with a pond and a new green, which is now the hardest hole on the course. The “signature hole”, hole 4, is also challenging, as you play over two ponds with the tee and hit the ball about 130 m (men) or 95 m (women) in the carry.
Managing Director Franz Stabauer
After a changing operator history, the golf course including the clubhouse fell back to the owner Franz Stabauer in 2015, who has since operated the entire facility under sole responsibility as a GmbH. He is under by his wife Brigitte and his son Andreas.
With additional training as a greenkeeper, the managing director has created a second pillar. His expertise and attention to detail can be seen in the solid course maintenance and the garden design around the clubhouse.
In 2016, the banks of the pond on hole 4 were lavishly delimited with large granite stones in order to harmonize the overall picture. The entrance to the golf course was widened and redesigned in 2017.
