Nestled in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and only 25minutes off the Hume Highway, about half way between Sydney and Melbourne, the Tumut Golf Club is a great place to break the journey and relax in a warm and friendly atmosphere. A variety of motels and camping grounds are available in the town.
Tumut Golf Club was established at it’s present site in 1940 with the construction of a nine hole, sand green course. Prior to this the course was situated on what is now the sports ground and sections of the Riversglades Caravan Park. Unfortunately this land was prone to flooding and the site was abandoned the following year. A second attempt was made in 1925 when the links were established at the racecourse. These links remained in service until 1932 when the course was relocated to private land at Stoney Creek. Following the release of land by the then State Forestry Commission in 1938 the club moved to it’s present location.
