Dr. Laurie Chapman was born and raised in Olympia, Washington. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Whitman College and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific Arthur A Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. Dr. Chapman has wanted to be a dentist since she was 12 years old. She cannot imagine another profession as engaging and fulfilling as dentistry since it is the perfect mix of science and art. She likes to help patients look and feel their best and to help make each appointment as comfortable and positive as possible. Dr. Chapman enjoys outdoor activities like tennis, skiing, rock climbing, and gardening. She also enjoys cooking and traveling. Recently she has started studying the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Dr. Chapman and her husband, Dwight, moved to Durham in October 2015 to be closer to family and have two cats, Brie and Stilton (yes, they are named after types of cheese).
