Skin Sense

When Angela Padgett, the company’s founder and president, opened Skin Sense Face and Body Works in September 1991, the day spa label had not yet been coined. At its first location in North Raleigh, Skin Sense introduced a novel, holistic philosophy of facial skin care and body care to the Triangle.

With 30 years of experience and a full-service day spa located in the Triangle, Skin Sense now has a reputation for promoting total body wellness and bringing balance to the lives of tens of thousands of clients. As it has grown from its initial concentration on facials and waxing, the company has added therapeutic massages, deeply relaxing body treatments, microdermabrasion, and more to its menu of services. Its innovative approach to wellness, highly-trained therapists and state-of-the-art facilities such as steam rooms, and relaxation lounges, have earned Skin Sense over twenty-five awards from its clients through surveys conducted by nearly every local newspaper and magazine, including reader’s choice awards such as “Best Day Spa” and “Best Facial” from the readers of magazines such as Midtown, Metro, and Independent Weekly to name a few.

Recognizing that holistic wellness and caring for the Earth go hand-in-hand, Skin Sense, a day spa, has taken great pride in its commitment to the environment. Many of the treatments and products offered by the spa are made with natural, vegan, and eco-friendly ingredients. The company also uses eco-friendly cleaning products in its facilities and is a member of the Green Spa Network as well as LOHAS, which brings sustainable practices and education to the spa industry. Skin Sense, a day spa also is passionate about its community involvement. Through The Skin Sense Foundation, the company supports causes that benefit women, children, and animals.
