Arts Together is the only non-profit in the City of Raleigh with a year-round arts education program that encompasses visual art, dance and drama in a multi-arts format for all ages. Arts Together renovated the building for Raleigh Housing Authority over 20 years ago, thereby saving an historic treasure for the capital city so that it could be enjoyed by generations to come. This rare structure, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, still stands today because a coalition of public and private agencies worked cooperatively to make it happen. Arts Together was not only an ideally-suited tenant, but also drove the project ahead by securing funding to renovate the space. Its adaptation into bright, airy studios and classrooms is a testament to preservation and appropriate reuse. Arts Together and the Tucker Carriage House marry aesthetics and function in a way that breathes new life into a space steeped in the history of our city.
