Here is a really weird golf swing feel that will get you hitting perfect golf shots almost all the time. It’s a super simple drill that I like to use with my students who are really inconsistent – golfers who regularly hit fat and thin golf shots. In this awesome drill, you’re going to learn how to hit the golf ball first and take a nice divot in front of it just by “touching the stick” with your left shoulder. When you do this, it can feel SUPER WEIRD, but the proof is in the beautiful contact that you’re making with the golf ball.
When you touch the stick with your shoulder, you’re feeling your shoulder go down. This is a move that you need to make to be a good ball striker. Getting your shoulder down in the golf swing TILTS your spine towards the target. Most amateur golfers don’t have enough TILT in the golf swing and it’s why they can’t consistently hit the golf ball well.
