The San Andrés Golf Club was founded in 1945 in the offices of the Socony Vacuum Oil Company, by William McCarthy, Roberto Urdaneta Abelaéx, Carglos G. Escobar, JK Hunfendick, Kenelm Paris and AC Campbell The Club House has a marked Scottish style, according to original plans by the aforementioned architects, and with reforms by Child Dávila Luzardo & Co.
It is located in the heart of the western savannah of Bogotá, in the Municipality of Funza, chosen for enjoying a special microclimate with 25% less rainfall in an extensive land that has a unique drainage, facilitating the practice of outdoor sports in rainy seasons.
The golf course is one of its greatest insignia, its design was inspired by The Old Course St Andrews, it was built with imported seed from Canada and under the famous direction of the architects Thompson & Jones, recognized in their time worldwide in the Golf.
The course is recognized by the publication The Rolex Worlds Top 100 Golf Courses as the best golf course in the country, it is also valued for being framed by the Gualí wetland and for its enchanting trees with specimens of more than 20 meters high along along its 7,201 yards in length, par 72.
After a long history of tradition, for the celebration of its 75 years a total transformation was made to the facilities, renovating the spaces bringing with it structural novelties and family-oriented services.
The iconic structure of the classic Scottish heritage house was kept intact, transforming its interior to include family activities: sports bar, gym, reading and game rooms, large dining room, hairdresser, modern reception and park childish. In addition, a three-hectare area was set up for the creation of an Ecoclub, with an artificial lake for water activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding and water bikes; a German-inspired eco-park; a Swiss chalet-style retreat; trails for hiking and horseback riding; picnic area with grills; youth entertainment area with skating, climbing wall, soccer field and bike course. And as if all this were not enough, your members can stay in eco chalets_ glampings in the middle of a natural environment.
Since 2018 the renewal of the club transcended the brand itself, creating a need for communication, telling the trajectory and how the renovation efforts resulted in a unique club in its category, a renewed club, the Nuevo San Andrés.
