Weequahic Golf Course is an 18-hole public course located in the Weequahic section of Newark, New Jersey. Designed in 1913 by George Low, it is the oldest public golf course in New Jersey. The word “Weequahic” is from the Lenni-Lenape Native American term for “head of the cove”.
Tee boxes and Greens are way too close to each other, so there are a lot of chances for errant approach shots to come very close to where you are teeing off from. Overall a very fun course. Some short Par 4s that you can score on. Pace of play was good, on a Saturday, and the course was in pretty good condition. Wish more players would repair their marks on the greens. Would definitely play here again though!
