We are open 365 days a year.Established in 1999.Dr. Jennifer Jones Shults purchased the practice in May 2014 and has expanded our service offerings. We have 4 experienced full-time emergency veterinarians and a caring, experienced staff ready to help you with the care of your pet. We work with your regular veterinarian to provide care after-hours or during the day when needed. We provide emergency care for your four legged friend. Because accidents or illnesses don't always happen during regular office hours, it's important to know where to receive prompt medical attention from a quality veterinary hospital specializing in emergency and critical care.Dr. Jennifer Shults is a 2009 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and also earned her undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and chemistry from NC State. She completed a 1 year rotating small animal internship at Southpaws Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center in June 2010, during which 50% of her time was devoted to emergency and critical care medicine. Throughout her internship, Dr. Shults worked with veterinary radiologist, learning more about ultrasound and gaining additional skill. After completing her internship, Dr. Shults came to work at the Animal Emergency Clinic of Cary full-time. Dr. Shults continued to focus on ultrasound in continuing education, and has completed multiple courses through Sound-Eklin Veterinary Imaging Education.
