The original course was designed by Richard Nugent to evolve around the existing natural environment while providing a challenging 6,816-yard par 71 golf course.

In 2017, the Royal Fox began a multi million dollar renovation on the clubhouse and the golf course. This project includes upgrades to the bunkers, updated equipment for the course and the kitchen, and a lower level clubhouse renovation with upgrades to the pro shop, fitness center and locker rooms. This renovation also provides the opportunity for a new 19th hole dining facility.
